You guys, it has been a HOT minute.
I cannot even begin to tell you where the time went. I want to say Summer happened, then the school year started. Then 2020 came and January literally lasted 6 months and now it’s February and I’m getting my shit back together. I’m finally feeling compelled to hop back on here and try and be more active on this side of TMU.
I can safely say that we have had no shortage of chaos around here.
4th grade is KICKING my ass. The homework, the tests, the social circles the attitude. It is NOT for the faint. And in all honesty, I have been having a TOUGH time. Natalie is SO much like me, it’s really freaking hard to deal with.. so Thanks B for sticking by my ass for all these years. Natalie is truly the sweetest girl but the kid has a mouth and has some super negotiating skills. Right now, her things are Minecraft, sleepovers, and art. What we’re struggling with at the moment is that she doesn’t like how scheduled we are. She hates routine how strict I am with that. So suffice to say, we’ve been at each other for quite some time. With this being said, I’ve been trying to not be so rushy rushy, and really trying to prime and prep her and being sure she’s well-rested and fed nutritiously.
Zoe – if you’ve been following along is my most difficult child. Well, sort of. She goes from hot to cold to hot faster than I can even hear what she’s saying. Eeek. Once the turn is passed, it’s VERY difficult to get her back. 95% of the time she is the happiest, compassionate, fun-loving kiddo. She is a BEAST at the monkey bars, she loves to play with her friends, she’s either best friends or worst enemies with her siblings and she’s still my pickiest eater. She had her very first sleepover this school year and now she’s SUPER into that. She cannot wait to get away. She wants a sleepover every weekend! Not only is Z the most social one of my kiddos she is also the most fashionable.. (or so she thinks). She definitely vibes off her looks and outfit and that’ll determine her mood for the morning.
We’re still in the middle of everything with T. He is an EATING machine. Boys really do eat a lot more than girls in case you were wondering. He is SO active, aggressive, playful, imaginative and loving when it’s fitting. This year we switched him into a different school so that he could become more acclimated to a classroom setting and the transition and the switching between schools is beyond complicated for him. His new school is nonpreferred for him so every Tuesday and Thursday morning have been challenging. I think FINALLY now in February, we’ve gotten over the hump and he is starting to enjoy going and is more into initiating play. T is still dino-obsessed, he’s super close to learning to ride a two-wheeler and STILL gets up at the ass crack of dawn.
Here I am barely surviving the beginning of 2020. I am still trekking and working days and nights. I am hoping to phase out of my daily work in the office to fully transition into the baby field. In the meantime my day to day has consisted of getting to the gym at 4:55 AM, taking a class– YES a class ( I can’t believe I was phobic before this) get ready for work, drop-offs, head to the office, home to relieve Amanda (my FUN mom), homework, dinner, shower, nap/laundry, Nightshift, and REPEAT. This has been my life for the past 4 months so please PLEASE forgive me– I am truly EXHAUSTED.
