10 years ago I was in college living my best life meanwhile Katy Perry’s I Kissed A Girl was the top song in August of 2008. Staying up late, eating dinner on the couch in front of the tv with friends and some reality show and sleeping in. My gosh, I miss college. 10 years ago I was wrapping up my senior year at Sonoma State University. I had my own place, ate whatever I wanted, drank more often than I should have and enjoy being on my own.
College is the time to find yourself, experiment, live life to the fullest. I cannot express this enough to the younger generation. There’s no turning back from being an adult. There’s SO much responsibility and there are often times I wish that life was as simple as getting my ass to class on time and making sure I read an obscene amount of pages before the lecture.
I think that something I’ve learned from just getting older is that experiences are far more important than any materialistic thing. If there were ever an opportunity to experience something new, I’d always say do that. I hope to instill that in my kids. I know that they are a little bit more pessimistic about trying new things, but as they get older, EXPERIENCE a ton and never put a cap on anything– opportunities are endless. YOLO.
