This past weekend B and I had a couple of firsts. That’s saying A LOT seeing we’ve been together FOREVER.
We finally left all three kids with responsible adults and ran to the Desert. We’ve left before but not since we’ve had Travis– and well, he’s 3. So it’s been too freaking long. It’s so hard trying to find someone that is actually down to watch all the kids because three is kind of a lot of work. I mean, I can barely do it most days. So when the opportunity arose, we ran for it. It was the first time that we’ve left the three kids overnight. We go out a ton, but never longer than a night out on the town. We needed this. It was such a trip being able to go somewhere and not have a million disruptions, the sound of constant bickering and needing to be constantly on duty while providing unlimited snacks. Even sans the kids, I still didn’t manage a sleep in, but being able to wake up slow and not have the immediate need to make breakfast and play dino fight was refreshing. A super special thank you to our friends and family that helped hold down the ship while we were gone, it truly takes a village.
So, not only did we leave the kids; we drove to the Desert to meet Randy– whom I’ve got to know quite well over the last 18 ish months. We’ve worked on a couple of projects together and immediately hit it off. We’ve chatted, laughed, complained and shared some of our dirtiest secrets with each other but have NEVER EVER met. So B and I packed up and drove 120 miles to meet a man that I have never met before that I guess you could say . . . I met over the internet. EEK!
Just a little bit of background, Randy helped me create This Mom Uncensored. His heart is made pure gold (if he likes you), his ambitions are sky high, laughter is incredibly contagious and he can have me laughing till I’m crying in 5 minutes. I don’t really understand how someone I really haven’t met before could just get me and know what I’m thinking… but he just does. It was SO amazing to finally meet him and his family. I felt like we already knew each other and I had the best time. Randy- Thanks for having B and I. I feel like this past Saturday’s Halloween party was just the tip of the iceberg and that magic is going to happen.
I can feel it.
