I’m starting this new thing. Monday’s I’m going to rehash our weekend and highlights of the previous week. I think it’ll be a good get to know ya, dig a little deeper. And well to be honest, somewhere for me to go to let it out.
This weekend I felt like flew by. Friday we wrapped up the school week and during the day I got to do me! Since B has been killing it on laundry duty, I had really nothing to do. Yippie! I dropped T off at school and came home and did my nails and binged Devious Maids. When I get my Fridays with virtually nothing to do, I really really like my own space. There are so many Friday’s where the kids are not in school or it’s half day or I have meetings so naturally, I took adavantage. So.. I shoo’d B away and had a day of binge watching. This NEVER ever happens. I can be dying with the stomach flu and I’d still be up doing Mom stuff because let’s face it, Moms never get a break. On duty 100% of the time.
I had a girls night that much needed. I try and get one in twice a month. I love being able to laugh, chat, listen and to have fun! This one was quite tame, maybe because it was storming (people in LA don’t do rain), but I was home by 12:45am.
Saturday was another lazy day. Like the LAZIEST day, I’ve ever had.. EVER. I stayed in my pj’s until 1:30! This also never happens. I just couldn’t get it together. The kids had fun doing stuff around the house. Zoe is still opening birthday presents. (It’s been over a week!) Not going to lie, it’s kind of nice when they get to do something new every couple of days.
Saturday night we continued the lazy vibe. B and I continued Devious Maids. How freaking pathetic! I can’t tell you guys enough how much I like the show. Trashy, laugh out loud, romance– all the things that I look for in a good show. LOL. Like we watched 4 episodes. I normally crash out at 10 when I’m home. On the dot– I turn into a pumpkin, I can’t hang after that. Anway, it was nice being able to hang out and be lazy.
Sunday we finally we were all charged up and were ready to tackle the day. I researched a ton of different pumpkin patches in the LA area and though I did mention a few of the top patches in LA, we strayed. (Shouldn’t come as a surprise, we often travel off the beaten path) We packed a lunch, loaded the car, turned on the most horrific DVD (Barbie.. The movie is WORSE than the books-FYI) and headed to the Inland Empire..! We never ever get out that way, but we’ve heard great things about the Cal Poly Pomona pumpkin patch. We literally had the best time. The kids loved seeing an actual pumpkin patch and the highlight was the shaved ice and petting zoo. This shaved ice vendor was like something I’ve never seen before. They give you your plain shaved ice and they have dispensers with multiple flavors… think Sparkletts filled with sugary goodness. My first thought was whoever thought of this clearly did not have kids. Well, all is well that ends well and everyone sort of ate it. It looks so good in the beginning but it gets nasty purple-y brown super fast and the appeal fades real quick. Also– I didn’t have baby wipes. (I’ve gotta start carrying those things again.)
Suffice to say, the kids had a great weekend. Now that we went to the pumpkin patch, I’m getting more into this whole fall thing. Halloween festivities are in full swing and none of us have costumes. Yay for the mama hustle. Amazon, don’t let me down.
