Time's Divide

to shop or not to shop. .

So way back when I used to be a brand snob–Loved me my designer jeans, bags and shoes. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the newest jean trend. Well, umm… Times have changed and while I’ll forever save my favorite pieces, being a brand whore is way behind me… (at least for now).

Three kids don’t make shopping easy. It’s actually terrible. The worst thing ever. I would rather Amazon Prime Now something and pay extra for delivery if it meant I didn’t have to take the kids to the store. Suffice to say, I don’t do it much. And when I mean shopping– I guess that means any kind of shopping– grocery, clothes, home– with maybe the exception of shopping for Lad. Thanks to our local PetSmart for providing at least 45 minutes of entertainment for my kids.  Only in complete desperation will I take a kid, let alone 3 shopping.

For my personal shopping, I tend to hit up my moms closet, yep I said it. She shops with my young, hip sisters so I know that whatever is in her closet is approved or has been approved in the past. Another confession,  I’m not going to lie, I love the Goodwill. I have found some of my favorite things there. My rationale behind it is like ‘shopping’ in my Mom’s closet, someone already loved it at some point, they did the dirty work and looked on the shelves, and well, now it’s here for me.

I have just recently dipped into Poshmark while eBay has always been a favorite. I’m always in search of a deal, so naturally, I’ll research it until I find something that I have to have and try and get it for the best deal. Even if it means Ican’t have it right away, the chase is worth it. It’s more enjoyable that way. I mean this only works if I’m not super behind and someone needs a yellow T-shirt for the school performance tomorrow. (eek!)

I really should start stitchfix or trunk club. Just for you know, the staple pieces. I wouldn’t mind having a few new pieces for each new season. I really am so frugal and hate spending money on stuff that I don’t absolutely need so it really would be nice if someone could just send me stuff and I could send back the items I don’t want.  Which are the favorites?

They Call Me: Mom, MOM, MOMMAY

Hey there. I'm Kelsey. I live in sunny Manhattan Beach with my husband, Brendan, and our 3 kids- Natalie, Zoe & Travis. Natalie is almost 8 and is in the second grade. She is seriously a carbon copy of me.. Poor B. It's amazing at how fast she picks up on my likings and disliking, my mannerisms & sayings. Zoe is 5 and has the cutest little munchkin voice that can make you melt. Don’t be fooled because that girl is so strong willed and will fight you for what she wants and to top it off she’s blonde. Travis, my Dino loving three year old has really made our family complete. He is the perfect playing companion and is loyal to the bone. He’ll tell you how it is. As you could imagine, my life is nothing less than chaotic and though I can’t wait for 5 pm to hit-- I love my kids and my life.
