I have been an avid tampon user for the most of my period life. After having the babies, I wasn’t able to use them and had to use pads and they sucked. I’ve read a million reviews about the diva cup — good and bad, and I wasn’t sure I was ready to take the leap. I kept obsessively researching and came upon a different option that was a little bit more interesting to me. The Soft Cup. Apparently, these babies have been around for a long time and have a bit of a learning curve, but I’m all about trying something new and if it’s better for me then why not.
The Soft Cup had me intrigued as they’re reusable, you can wear them up to 12 hours and clincher, you can have sex while on your period– or so this one lady on Amazon swore by. OK, OK, I’ll bite. Before even giving it a go, I read a ton of articles, ones who are ALL about it and others who say forget it. I thought I’d try it for myself and see what I thought.
I’m pretty comfortable with my body, so there wasn’t an issue with getting it into the right spot– it’s the number one complaint. Initially, I was just freaking out and didn’t want to leak, but everywhere swears by being able to wear it for 12 hours! Umm.. I’m not taking any chances I emptied out that bad boy 4 times in a day. Let’s just say, it’s a little bit messy at first (I totally disregarded all of the advice by starting on a lighter flow day). Just keep trying. Practice, practice.
Once you’ve mastered the correct placement, ya’ll are golden. I will NOT be going back to any sort of feminine hygiene products ever, I am recommending it to all of my friends and it says does everything that it says it does. Try it, maybe you’ll love it.
PS – You can have sex while on your period. Why did it take me so long to find this?? Anyway, I’m a fan. You’ll be too.
Oh— not recommended for IUD users. Sorry.
